Students will rehearse and memorise 1 or 2 contrasting solo speeches.

Actors will work in pairs on 1 contemporary duologue scene.

Training Ethos

At Actors Training Studio we believe that class-work can only go so far and that nothing progresses the actor further than live performance.  No matter whether you are a beginner or have some experience, the challenge of memorising lines and moves, learning to cope with performance nerves and enjoying the thrill of bringing your work to life in front of an audience - develops performance skills and builds self-confidence like nothing else.  For this reason, we include a performance component on all our short and intensive courses and encourage you to invite your family and friends along to see you be brilliant!

Props and costumes, theatre lighting and sound will add to the excitement of live performance in the Red Hedgehog fringe theatre space, preceded by technical and dress rehearsals.

We usually end up in one of the good pubs nearby the venue after rehearsal. Both The Woodman and the Boogaloo opposite serve good beers, wines and coffees.  Pub visits really add to the experience and many previous participants have made lasting friendships.
