Working on one play at a time over four sessions, we will learn to sight-read Shakespeare with confidence, practising the rhythms of speech and experimenting with characterisation and delivery. For Session 2, you will select and learn a speech ready for detailed work on it. Session 3 will include some duologue work, again prepared ready for the session. Session 4 will be a read-through of the whole play.
You will be sent a choice of monologues from which you will select one piece, which should be learned and prepared ready for the workshop.
A chance to perform as many monologues as you like in front of a small audience of other participants only. Please Note: this evening is NOT intended as an industry showcase. Its purpose instead is to provide a ‘safe space’ to try things out ideas for performance, to sight-read material, or to practise performing a piece at a later stage of development, when it will be useful to have a small audience to play to. Timings will be worked out in advance and the order of pieces decided, so that the evening can run smoothly.
